The Team That Cares
The team at Kalkoup Community Care collectively has over 15 years in the industry. Fostering an inclusive, and adaptive approach to Community Supports.

Founding Director
Clinical Nurse Consultant

Siobhan Hegarty
Siobhan began her nursing career in 2014 as a graduate nurse, but quickly realised the hospital environment wasn’t where she felt she could make the biggest impact. She followed her instincts, stepped away from hospital-based nursing, and found her true passion in community care. Over the years, she worked with some of the largest providers in the sector, supporting individuals of all ages to live healthier, more independent lives at home.
Six years ago, Siobhan was mentored by an incredible nurse educator who helped shape her path into clinical education and nurse consultancy. This shift allowed her to broaden her expertise while deepening her understanding of the unique and often complex needs of families receiving care in the community. That knowledge—and the growing demand for her expertise—led her to take a leap in 2021 and establish Kalkoup Clinics. Built on referrals, relationships, and a strong reputation for quality education and clinical reporting, Kalkoup quickly grew into a community-centred service with heart.
Today, Siobhan wears many hats—some days she’s out in the field delivering complex nursing care such as catheter, PEG, or tracheostomy changes; other days, she’s providing wound care, training new team members, or developing comprehensive reports for families and providers. She thrives on variety, and on being able to make a real difference whether she’s hands-on with clients or shaping systems behind the scenes.
Siobhan is a strong believer in collaboration and a multidisciplinary approach to care. She continues to invest in her own learning, attending national conferences in areas like urology, gastroenterology, and dietetics to stay ahead of the curve. She’s generous with her knowledge, often supporting colleagues and other service providers to improve community-based care across the board.
What sets Siobhan apart is her human-first approach. She’s passionate about filling in the gaps—whether that’s helping parents understand wound care, troubleshoot a feeding pump, or navigate the endless task of ordering consumables. At Kalkoup, she’s created more than a brand—she’s built a community where families feel supported, seen, and never judged.
Outside of work, Siobhan enjoys hockey, tending to her garden, and spending time with her beloved dog, Dante. A self-confessed podcast enthusiast, she’s always learning something new on the road—especially when tuning into science-based shows like Ologies, with a soft spot for all things medical.

Administration Assistant
Erin
With a background in International Relations from UWA and Performing and Visual Arts, Erin brings a unique blend of organisation, compassion, and innovation to everything she does. Her deep understanding of complex family needs stems not only from her professional background in advocacy, healthcare, and housing — but also from her lived experience.
As the founder and CEO of Mama Respond, a grassroots organisation supporting families of children with additional needs, Erin is a fierce advocate for inclusive, community-led care. Mama Respond champions empowerment through connection, helping many families in need. Her leadership in this space enriches her role at Kalkoup.
At Kalkoup Clinics, Erin supports the admin team, support staff and clinicians behind the scenes — helping everything run smoothly, while also being a steady hand and compassionate ear for the families we serve. Her dual roles allow her to bridge the gap between service providers and the community, ensuring families feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported.
Outside of work, Erin is known for her love of good food, good company, and creating moments of joy wherever she goes. She believes that real care happens in the small details — a belief she brings into both her advocacy and her everyday work at Kalkoup.

Registered Nurse
Katie (Pending Image)
Katie is one registered nurse team at Kalkoup. Her favorite part of community nursing is forming strong and meaningful connections with her clients. She loves getting to know their hobbies, how they take their morning coffee, and listening to their life stories. Understanding what makes her clients smile drives her passion and allows her to provide comprehensive and compassionate nursing care. Above all, seeing clients grow and reach their individual goals as a result of the team's efforts is the most rewarding part of her work.
Katie is relatively new to community nursing, having previously worked as a preoperative nurse in theatre. However, due to burnout and a lack of patient contact, she left in search of a more fulfilling role that would allow her to provide holistic and individualized care. This search led her to Kalkoup Clinics, where she found her true calling.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys spending quality time with friends, hiking trails with her dog, painting by numbers, and cooking for her loved ones. She also assists a small family business that teaches people how to safely catch and relocate venomous snakes.
